botsin.space was an instance for all kinds of bot accounts. No humans, just playful bots experiments posting on their own schedule.
I want to remember this fun place, as sadly botsin.space has been shut down.

You may have seen accounts with the profile tag "Automated". These automated accounts are not directly operated by a human. A human set them up and decided what to post, but the posts are send by a program running on some computer.
Thanks to federation, one can spin up instances dedicated to automated accounts and botsin.space was the first one known to me. I operated three bots and want to share my excitement about bots posting. It can be useful, but it often felt like an artistic expression of creativity on a social network.
