As the open social web grows, safety becomes a critical challenge. From volunteer-led moderation on the Fediverse to the continued reliance on Bluesky’s moderation infrastructure in the ATProto ecosystem, issues of scalability, governance, and power are urgent. This session explores the future of shared moderation infrastructures, cross-protocol collaboration, sustainable funding models, and the role of public institutions in supporting safe and resilient decentralised social networks.
