The Open Social Web provides fertile ground for digital community. But providing a plot of land isn’t enough, we need to cultivate for the community to grow. Join us to learn how the Newsmast Foundation is helping communities feel at home on the Social Web.
The Newsmast Foundation are leading efforts to provide digital spaces for communities on the Social Web. Their Apps for Change programme has brought journalists, scientists, influencers, and progressive groups to the space. Their approach goes beyond the tech, addressing barriers of entry to the Social Web and the challenges of community building. This talk will look at some of the solutions the Newsmast Foundation use to help communities build a home on the Social Web, showcasing real examples of their work.
Saskia is the Head of Community at the Newsmast Foundation. With a background in storytelling and journalism, she's shaped how the Newsmast Foundation communicate the complex ideas of the Social Web and build for non-techie users.
